The Lyons Community Foundation Advisory Board is thrilled to connect with the community at events like the Easter Egg Hunt, the Artisan Market and the weekly concert series in Sandstone Park. We look forward to seeing everyone at LCF's and LEAF's second annual Hootenanny which will take place on Sunday, August 28th at River Bend. We hope to see you there. |

LCF awards $7,500 to six high school graduates in May |
Scholarships such as those endowed by generous families in our community act to give students some well deserved support to undertake the many challenges of going to college and beginning their careers. Scholarships are also excellent indicators of the hard work and dedication to future success that these young people have displayed. LCF began offering scholarships to Lyons area graduating seniors in 2009 with a single $500 scholarship. This year, the Lyons Community Foundation awarded $7500 in scholarships to six Lyons area graduating seniors. To date, $72,000 in scholarship funds have been awarded to 70 college bound students. Artisan Market raises $2,700 in June |
For the 2nd year in a row, LCF partnered with the Town of Lyons to bring an outdoor Artisan Market to Bohn Park. This year, for the first time, LCF offered to serve food, as well as root beer floats. We would like to thank the Lyons Dairy Bar for donating 12 gallons of ice cream. Board member and grillmaster, Gwyd Winkelmeyer, along with Sean Dunn, barbequed over 140 pounds of meat. Next year, we will be sure to prepare even more food as we ran out within a couple of hours. In all, LCF raised $2,700 thanks to your generosity and support! |

LCF is fortunate to have so many great volunteers year after year. |
Sandstone Summer Concert Series is back! |
Since 2013, LCF has granted $33,000 to the Town of Lyons, in order to bring you the hugely popular weekly concert series in Sandstone Park. Thanks to your contributions [to the boot], LCF is able to provide stellar entertainment by local musicians. Please stop by our blue tent to connect with board members and enjoy refreshments and snacks. We have 7 more concerts to enjoy, every Wednesday at 6:30pm. |
